SCI Driving Program

The SCI Driving Program is lead by Patricia Larsen. With the SCI herd expanding and growing in size we knew that it was time to start searching for new paths these horses could explore. That search led us to Patricia in 2019 and we couldn't be more grateful to have her on our team! She now has multiple SCI horses thriving in her driving program.

In her own words..

"I have studied Classical Dressage training for 30+ years. Long lining and ground driving led to cart and carriage training along the way. I enjoyed training and competing with carriage clubs in pleasure driving for many years in the Midwest. My philosophy is to create a partnership based on respect of the physical and emotional condition of each horse on a daily basis. Assessment and evaluation determines training goals with soundness -mental and physical- the primary goal for improvement. Training develops and imroves biomechanical function- allowing the horse to do the job that seems to be appropriate for them. Keeping in mind-the love of horses is what brings me here-to learn from each horse to be a better trainer and partner. Patience isn't a virtue-it is a requirement to understanding our equine partners and students."
